At YK Kids Tutoring, we offer personalised, micro-levelled lessons in small classes of just six students, each following a customised curriculum.
Our structured approach takes your child from learning fundamentals to accuracy, speed, and mastery, ensuring steady progress every step of the way.
Through study sprints and short breaks called Brain Breaks, your child will train focus and build confidence, while learning stress management strategies through mindfulness exercises and cognitive wellness activities.
The Brain Break activities are designed to also enhance pattern recognition, working memory training and spatial awareness—setting them up for OC and Selective School entrance exams and high school success.

We don’t assume a level based on age. Every child is different. We will assess your child so that they start at the most appropriate level.
Students can complete the whole NSW Maths curriculum in Year 3 if they want to or return to concepts from earlier grades where there is a knowledge gap.
Start with us in year 1 or 2.
This is the essential program before OC and Selective School preparation. Develop strong maths skills and knowledge to lay the groundwork for future OC and Selective School exam readiness.
Once your child has learnt the fundamental concepts of maths, then they can start doing practice tests with you.

Don’t need to do an overwhelming amount of homework
We do encourage homework because it is essential for retention but homework is optional for us so that you can carry on with balancing extracurricular activities.

How do you ensure my child is learning at Tutoring?
Differentiated micro-levelled worksheets for a completely customised program for each student
Regular assessment and completion tracking to ensure students master the concept before moving ahead

The program is sequenced from learning, to accuracy drills, to speed drills, to assessment with some applications to word problems
Do you have homework?
Yes we provide optional homework
We encourage students to complete homework as revision for concepts learnt in class but we also understand that children have many extracurricular activities outside of school and academic are only one of them so homework is not compulsory. If the student is not progressing, we will let you know and highly encourage homework for retention of new concepts so students get the most out of the program.
How much does it cost?

Does the program align with the NEW NSW syllabus?
Yes the program is aligned with the new NSW syllabus to ensure students are receiving the most relevant content to them and future exams such as OC, NAPLAN and selective school entrance exams.
How do you ensure my child is focused through the lesson?
Your tutor will carefully manage the students to ensure that students are enjoying the productive lessons.
Students are encouraged to do study sprints with a short break in between called Brain Breaks. Brain Breaks promote cognitive wellness through mindfulness activities and are simultaneously used as a training tool for skills such as pattern recognition, spatial awareness, and working memory - all of which are skills required for the OC and Selective school exams.
Do you prepare for the OC and Selective School entrance exams?
As NSW teachers, our goal is to establish a strong foundation in maths, mindset, and attitude towards studying so that students can apply that knowledge when the time comes and so that they are ready for high school.
We do not do explicit OC and Selective school entrance exam preparation at this time. Think of our program as the foundation program before attempting practice exams for these entrance exams.
